Altinkum boat trips offered the perfect escape from the monotonous routine that had crept into my life. For months I had been glued to my computer, saving money for travel and losing enthusiasm in the process. When friends mentioned a lazy day boat trip in Altinkum, I jumped at the chance. The idea of a relaxed, unhurried day on the water was exactly what I needed, so I signed up with Altinkum Boat Trips on Facebook.
In the days leading up to the trip, friends kept calling to make sure I was still coming. Even my long-suffering husband found my sudden enthusiasm surprising; everyone expected me to back out at the last minute with an excuse. But I was determined to go. There was only one problem: I had no swimwear, no shorts, no hat, no sunglasses and no sun cream — all essentials for a day at sea.

Improvisation saved the day. I raided my husband’s wardrobe and headed to the harbor wearing his boxer shorts as a makeshift swimsuit. I admit I worried a little that the loose fabric would fill with water, but that didn’t stop me from getting on board.

Altinkum Boat Trips and Tours
At Altinkum harbor I made it clear I didn’t want a rowdy party boat with drinking games and noisy crowds. My goal was relaxation, so I was assigned to the Siesta, a two-deck boat designed for those who prefer a calm, lazy cruise along the Aegean coastline. The gangplank and safe boarding areas kept things relaxed, and the boat’s clean toilets and well-stocked bar (Efes on tap) were appreciated touches. Music played at a comfortable volume so you could still hear yourself think — ideal for anyone seeking a peaceful day at sea.

Throughout the day we anchored in several bays. Some friends went snorkeling, others took the speedboat or hopped on the banana boat, and a few tried scuba-related activities. I chose to lie on the top deck and soak up the sun, enjoying the gentle sway of the boat and the panoramic views of the coastline. I did swim once, keeping my outer shorts on just in case they ballooned with water, but mostly I relaxed and let the day unwind.

Watersports
The boat trip offered a variety of watersports for those who wanted more action. Snorkeling revealed clear waters and interesting marine life, the speedboat provided an adrenaline rush for thrill-seekers, and the banana boat brought laughter and excitement. For anyone wanting a relaxed day with the option of adventure, the trip balanced both perfectly.

By the end of the day I felt refreshed and rejuvenated. The trip helped me break free from routine and restore some much-needed energy — and I returned with a deep tan and a big smile. At just 20 Turkish lira (about 8 UK pounds), the full-day cruise was excellent value for money. Would I go again? Absolutely. It was a simple, well-organized way to unwind, enjoy the Aegean scenery, and add a memorable break to an otherwise repetitive routine.
